How to Set up 2-factor authentication

2-factor authentication (or 2-step authentication) is a system that requires a 6-digit token as a separate password from your normal login password when you attempt to login or make withdrawals. This 6-digit token is created by a Two-Factor Authentication application on your cell phone, and is only valid for a certain period of time before expiring.

Passwords made by 2-factor authentication app are effective for spyware such as keyloggers.

1. Login to Zaif.

2.Click on Account in the top right corner part of the screen.

3.Click on ２FA.

4.Please install 2-factor authentication app compatible with TOTP on your smart phone following below.

*Please download an app from either the iOS or Android store links below.

App for iOS (iPhone / iPad)

・Google Authenticator – Google, Inc.

・IIJ SmartKey – Internet Initiative Japan Inc.

・Authy – Authy Inc.

App for Android

・Google Authenticator – Google, Inc

・IIJ SmartKey

・Authy Two-Factor Authentication

・(Wear Supported) Auth2 – 2FA Application

5.Please click "Start using 2-factor authentication" button when you finish downloading your App.

6. After startup 2-factor authentication app is installed, read our [QR code] with your camera through the 2-factor authentication app.

If you are accessing our site through your smartphone, or your 2-factor authentication app isn't compatible with QR codes, please click this URL after having started your 2-factor authentication app.

After successfully reading the QR code, please register Zaif account on the 2-factor authentication app.

7. Confirm that you are receiving the 6-digit token is created by a Two-Factor Authentication app after adding the Zaif account to the 2-factor authentication app.

Setup is not complete after receiving the token.

8.Enter the token cod is created by a Two-Factor Authentication app into the form on the site and click the Confirm button.

Setup is not complete until the message "2FA is set up" shows up after entering the password.

*The token number changes after a period of time. Make sure to enter the token within the time limit.

9.When you complete set up, the message "Two-factor authentication setting enabled" will display. After that, you can adjust the details on the "2FA Settings" Page.
